In 1909 (and possibly other years) Westclox was making an alarm clock with the name “Lord Baltimore” on the dial. Two examples, dated 4 21 9 and 10 2 9, have been reported so far. Other clock companies, including Ingraham, also made Lord Baltimore alarm clocks. At this time, we do not know the significance of the Lord Baltimore alarm clock. The trademark registration contains the statement "The trade-mark has been continuously used in our business since the November 2, 1895."“Lord Baltimore was the title of three members of the Calvert family. They were best known as the founders and proprietors of the colony of Maryland.” The three were:
