Early Seth Thomas 1 Day Brass Movement Spring Clocks

Here is an early example of a 1 day brass movement spring driven clock by Seth Thomas.

The case is 19 x 12 x 41⁄2 inches. It has four full columns.

To my knowledge, except for the minute hand and the minute hand retainer, the clock is original with full label intact.

The Seth Thomas label states that the clock was produced in Plymouth Hollow, Conn.

The printer label information is: “Press of Elihu Geer, No. 1 State Street, Corner of Main, Hartford, Conn.”, dating it to 1847 - 1849.

The movement is labeled “S. Thomas, Plymouth, Conn., U.S.A".
