Pictures of the Plymouth Tambour Quarter Hour Strike 4601 Movement Shelf Clock:
This movement strikes the quarter hours. It does bim-bam on two rods on the first, second and third quarters; and strikes on one rod on the hour.
Rear of movement, showing quarter-hour snail, quarter-hour rack tail, and the lever on the back of the rear hammer shaft to lift the hammer on the hour so that it doesn't strike the gong.
The movement is dated 11-39 (November 1939)
Top view of movement, showing the deadbeat escapement with diamond-shaped pin-pallets.
