Appliance timer. It switches lights and other appliances on and off, and can be programmed up to 11 hours in advance. To have an appliance turn on at a certain time, pull out the knob by that time, using the hour markers. After the appliance turns off, the knob gets pushed back in automatically by the clock. The switch capacity is 1725 Watts.
The case is a mottled brown plastic that resembles Bakelite. The lens over the dial is glass.
