Personnel: H. A. (August) Schierholtz to retire September 3, 1954. He joined Westclox in 1913, working in the experimental depatement with George Kern, designer of the original Big Ben and Little Ben. Little Ben, after some changes, became Baby Ben. (this pre-Baby Ben is what I call the "Baby Ben Two inch" on this website). Mr. Schierholtz holds the design patent for the Style 2 Bens (the first base model Bens, issued March 29, 1927).
