Summary: The Westclox S2 manual starting synchronous motor. Describes the shape of the rotor and stator pole projections.
Application Date: 1933-04-20
Issue Date: 1934-05-01
Patent Number: 1957281
Serial Number: 667002
The rotor and/or the stator pole pieces can have projections where part of the projections are in the same plane as the rotor or stator, and part are at an angle out of the plane. Also, a separate disc could be attached to the rotor with one less projection than needed to run at synchronous frequency, this construction gives excellent starting and running torque.
