Westclox Clocks and Watches Needed

Our Westclox research is a ongoing project, and there are many things we still need to find out. Some of the clocks we need to borrow, buy or get information about are the following:

  • A clock by United Clock Co., LaSalle or Peru, Illinois. Probably has patent date of Sept. 22, 1885
  • Any clock with patent date of Sept. 22, 1885 on back but does not say “Other pats. applied for” or “Patents Pending”
  • Alarm clocks with patent date of Sept. 22, 1885 on the back
  • An 8-day alarm clock with Sept. 22, 1885 patent
  • A bell-top tin can alarm clock with a second hand and patent date of Sept. 22, 1885 or Oct. 2, 1902 on back
  • Early pocket watch (see below for movement drawing)
  • Big Ben with last patent date of 1907, 1908 or 1910
  • The "two inch" baby Ben. Looks similar to a leg model Baby Ben but with no name on dial.
  • Baby Ben with lower case first “b” in “baby”
  • Baby Ben leg model that says “Made in U.S.A.” at the bottom of the dial

Some early Big Ben and Baby Ben clocks we are looking for are pictured below:
